Comedy Open Mic Night: A Salem Reads Event

Are you as funny as Trevor Noah? Funnier? Let’s see what you’ve got! The Infinity Room and Salem Public Library are partnering to invite aspiring comics - adults and teens - to take the stage for up to 5 minutes in a night also featuring Portland's Funniest Person 2019 Adam Pasi, who has appeared on Portlandia and performed at Treefort and many other festivals.

Open mic host Julia Corral is a Portland Latina comic who produces The Comedy Corral, and Sorry Not Sorry (a showcase of Women/NB/LGBTQ comedians), both of which were named as showcases to watch by the Willamette Weekly. She has performed at the Upperleft Fest, Women’s NW Women’s Fest, and HaHa Harvest.

This is a family-friendly event that will be interpreted into American Sign Language.

Everyone is invited to come cheer on the comics. Seating is free on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Comics are encouraged to sign up in advance for their open mic slot. Advance sign up will be open to 4 p.m. Thursday, February 2. We will hold a couple of slots for at-the-door signups as well.
