If you are a licensed contractor, you can use the State of Oregon’s ePermitting website to get the following City of Salem permits.

• Electrical
• Mechanical
• Plumbing

Only licensed contractors can register to apply for permits through the ePermitting website. Please allow 48 hours for your permit to appear in our system. Eligible permits include those where the work does not require the following:

• Plan review
• Calculations
• Other agency approval

Request a Missing Address

If the address you need does not appear in the selection list on the ePermitting website, please call the Permit Application Center. The selection list is updated once a week, but we can make an address available in 24 hours.

Request an Inspection

Although you can apply and pay for permits through the State of Oregon's ePermitting website, you still need to request an inspection directly from the City.

Permit Fees

Permit fees may be a set amount, an hourly fee, a calculated amount or a combination of these methods.
