The Mayor and three City Councilors serve on the Climate Action Plan (CAP) Committee. The role of the committee is to review implementation activities and program updates, provide feedback to staff and the City Manager, and bring any actions requiring Council approval forward to the full City Council.

The CAP Committee was formed in Spring 2022, with the first meeting in May. The Committee met monthly in 2022 to review a list of 55 Recommended Priority Strategies for Early Implementation. Beginning January 2023, the CAP Committee will move forward with bi-monthly meetings to review continued progress on implementation activities identified in the Plan.

The Committee includes Mayor Chris Hoy, Councilor Jose Gonzalez (Ward 5), Councilor Trevor Phillips (Ward 3), Councilor Virginia Stapleton (Ward 1), and Commissioner Michael Slater (Planning Commission).
