Parking affects the livability of our community and challenges City leaders to find the right balance between costs and need. Salem strives to achieve this balance through a variety of methods including:

• A Downtown Parking District, providing thousands of free customer parking spaces
• Residential Parking Districts that keep non-residents from parking for long time periods on designated residential streets
• Permits for events and construction work

Parking Services responds to violations between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays.
