Robbery at local retailer, two arrested

Salem, Ore. — Salem Police officers responded to the call of an armed robbery on Monday afternoon, April 17. At approximately 4:15 p.m., the dispatch center received the call of an incident involving two men who entered the DSW store in the mall complex of the Willamette Town Center at 831 Lancaster DR NE.

The men selected multiple boxes of shoes and proceeded to walk out of the store. As they exited, one of the suspects gestured to what appeared to be a handgun on his person as he passed an employee. Using witness descriptions and details about the involved vehicle, officers were able to locate both suspects a short time later. An airsoft gun used in the incident was recovered.

Arrested were Juan Antonio Castillo, age 44, and Marcus J. Wisniewski, age 35. Both were lodged at the Marion County Jail on various theft and robbery-related charges. Castillo is also being held on several outstanding warrants.
