UPDATE: Event Canceled - Childhood Secrets Revealed

Post Date:01/03/2024 2:57 PM

Share your childhood secrets! Thrill your neighbors!

What did you do as a kid that you never told your parents? Now is the time to come clean and share with the class in this one-of-a-kind live storytelling event. Record your story and send it in by January 22 to be considered for the live event at 7 p.m. Friday, February 9. We’re looking for stories that are funny, adventurous, shocking, scary, and more. You choose the tone. Time limit: 7 minutes.

Stories should be:

  1. True
  2. Yours to tell
  3. Suitable for listeners from middle school to adult

Please submit by answering the questions on this Google Form. You will have the opportunity to either paste in a link to a recording (video or audio) of your story or to upload the file.

This project is a part of the 2024 Salem Reads: One Book, One Community project sponsored by the Salem Public Library Foundation. This year’s book, The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina by Zoraida Córdova, is an epic saga of a family nearly crushed by the weight of the many secrets held fiercely by their matriarch.

We encourage you to bring your secrets into the open to both entertain and connect us as a community.

Questions? Contact Salem Public Library at library@cityofsalem.net or 503-588-6315.
