City of Salem Closes Salem Public Library Due to Winter Storm Conditions

Salem, Ore. — Due to anticipated winter weather and cold conditions, the City of Salem is closing in-person services at the Salem Public Library, West Salem Library Branch, and Center 50+ on Saturday, January 13, 2024.  Please visit www.cityofsalem.net for a full list of available online resources.

The Salem Warming Network will activate overnight warming services if temperatures drop to 32 degrees or below. The ARCHES Day Center will be open beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Follow the ARCHES Project on Facebook for updates on area warming shelters or go to the Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency website on Emergency Services for information on how to volunteer.

All essential services, including police, fire, public works, and medical services will continue to operate throughout the weekend.

  • For life-threatening emergencies, call 9-1-1.

  • To report roadway, water, or sewer concerns, call the Public Works Dispatch Center at 503-588-6311

Service to the Civic Center and other city-owned and operated buildings will reopen on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, after the observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King holiday.
