Stakeholder Advisory Committee Meets April 3

Post Date:03/12/2019

The Our Salem Stakeholder Advisory Committee meets Wednesday, April 3 to review preliminary results from an analysis of existing conditions and future growth scenarios in Salem. The public is invited to attend the meeting, which is from 4 to 6 p.m. in Classrooms A and B at Center 50+, 2615 Portland Road NE, Salem

The preliminary results will include a look at how Salem performs against a list of 20 top indicators, which range from housing affordability to bicycle and pedestrian use to property tax revenue. The committee will also review initial results from Salem's first greenhouse gas emissions inventory.

The analysis is part of the first phase of the Our Salem project, which is a multi-year project to update the Salem Area Comprehensive Plan. All of the draft results will be presented to the community at a public workshop in early May.

This work will inform critical discussions and decisions about future growth in the city. The community identified a need to develop a vision for growth and development as part of the strategic planning process in 2017.
