City of Salem Resumes Normal Operation of In-Person Services Following Weather Related Closures

Salem, Ore. — Thanks to the work of many dedicated City of Salem staff and help from mother nature with warming temperatures, in-person services at the Civic Center, Salem Public Library, and Center 50+ will resume as scheduled on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Although many of our streets and sidewalks are beginning to thaw, unseen hazards and icy conditions may be present. Please take extra caution while traveling to avoid injury including:

  • Watch for sections of ice on roadways, sidewalks, and building entrances.
  • Maintain proper following distance between cars.
  • Increase stopping distances at intersections.
  • Reduce Speed and allow extra time during your commute.
