Salem, Ore. — At approximately 2:00 a.m. today, officers responded to a single-vehicle collision near the intersection of Kuebler BV and 27th AV SE.

The vehicle, a pick-up truck, carried five occupants, three who fled the scene on foot. The two remaining occupants were riding in the bed of the pick-up.

The Traffic Team’s preliminary investigation determined the pick-up was traveling eastbound on Kuebler BV and left the roadway onto uneven ground and struck a light post. The pick-up rolled and landed on its top, ejecting the two people riding in the bed of the truck. They were pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics.

One of the deceased individuals is identified as Ian Natanael Ramirez-Carlos, age 18. The second person who died is a 15-year-old girl. The Salem Police Department does not identify the names of minors involved in police investigations.

The remaining three occupants, Mariana Servin, age 20, and a 16-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy were located near the area of the crash by a K9 team. They were transported to Salem Health for injuries sustained in the collision.

The eastbound lanes of Kuebler BV were closed for approximately four hours for the investigation and clearing of the scene.

There is no further information available at this time, including that of citations or arrests, as the incident remains an active investigation.
