With cooling temperatures, lighter winds and higher humidity returning to the Willamette Valley, the City of Salem rescinded the open burning ban effective 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023. All outdoor burning, ceremonial and recreational fires will be allowed. 

City and Fire officials ask that the community continue to be alert and mindful of the dry conditions and to practice fire safety when burning outdoors.
