Some library fees updated beginning July 1

July 1 marks the beginning of a new fiscal year for the City of Salem, which brings adjustments to the Salem Public Library fee schedule for printing, meeting rooms, and for Library of Things items returned in need of cleaning. Updated fees will be:

  • Black and white printing - 25 cents per page (each visitor is permitted up to 10 free black and white pages per day)
  • Color printing - $1.25 per page
  • Library of Things Cleaning Fee - $25 per item returned in need of cleaning

Updated meeting room fees will be charged on new reservations placed after July 1. To learn more about renting a library meeting room or to reserve a room online, visit the Library Meeting Rooms and Study Rooms page.

  • Loucks Auditorium - $80/hour
  • Anderson Room A or Anderson Room B - $30/hour
  • Anderson Rooms A&B combined - $60/hour
  • Plaza Room - $20/hour
  • West Salem Meeting Room - $20/hour

Fees for meeting room use will continue to be waived for non-commercial events in which all three of the following criteria are met: 

  • The sponsoring/organizing group or individual is not a for-profit business. Only 501©3 non-profit, not-for-profit community groups, and government organizations will be given the non-commercial rate; and
  • The meeting or event does not include any sale of items or services, potential future sale of items or services, or collecting of donations; and
  • The meeting or event must be free and open to any member of the public who wishes to attend.
