Coaches or team managers should complete one registration form for their entire team.

League openings are available on a first-come, first-served basis, though teams may reserve a spot with the appropriate forms, deposit, and installment fee.

  3. Send the completed registration forms to or deliver them in person to the office during regular business hours.


Your team must be registered and paid in full by the registration deadline, or your team’s position may not be held.

Payment options

You can pay in one of the following ways. Most options require three business days to process.

  • Online: You may pay online with Visa or MasterCard if you are a registered user. First-time users can call the office to register. Credit cards are not accepted over the telephone.

  • In person: You may pay in person at the office using:

    • Cash
    • Check (payable to City of Salem)
    • Visa
    • MasterCard

Paying in installments

League fees may be paid in full at the time of registration or may be paid in installments. If paying in installments, a minimum deposit of $300 and the installment fee are due at the time of registration.
Team fees for six-week leagues must be paid in full at the time of registration.

Late fees

Late registrations and accounts not paid in full by the entry deadline will incur an additional late fee.


There is an $80 charge on all refunds. Refunds will not be granted after the entry deadline.

Eligibility to play requirements

To be eligible to play in the adult league program, players must:

  • Be at least 15 years of age

  • Provide government-issued photo identification

  • Sign the roster or waiver form on the first night of play (see the Waiver of Liability below). Players ages 15 to 17 must have a parent or guardian release, and a parent or guardian must sign the roster or waiver form on the first night of play.

Player eligibility exemption: Each player requesting an exemption from the league eligibility rules must submit a an exemption request form. This form must be submitted and approved by the Softball Coordinator or Softball Specialist two days prior to player being allowed to play in a game of a lower classification level.

Team practice

Individual teams may reserve field space at the complex for team practices, if space allows and fields are playable by sending an email with the requested dates and times.

  • Practices are scheduled in one-hour increments.

  • Fees are:
    • $16 per hour for league teams
    • $27 per hour for non-league teams
  • All team practice participants must be registered and listed on the team’s active roster.

  • Participants must sign a release waiver and provide photo identification.


All league games postponed due to rain-outs will be rescheduled at the end of the regular season. We send out alerts of game cancellations or postponements to our email subscribers. Please sign up to get rain-out notices. Current rain-out information will also be posted at, or it may be obtained by calling the rain-out information phone line.


The City of Salem does not provide medical or accidental insurance coverage; the participant is responsible for all such coverage. Players are required to sign the waiver of liability shown below before engaging in league play. Parents or guardians must sign for minors.

Waiver of Liability: I/we acknowledge the inherent risks associated with recreational activities, and in consideration for being permitted to participate in the activity, I/we voluntarily release, absolve, indemnify, and hold harmless the City of Salem from any liability, negligence, and expense in any way resulting from my (or my minor child’s) participation in this activity. I/we additionally agree that the City may use and reproduce a participant’s likeness for City marketing purposes.
