The Salem Public Library Transformation Station provides the equipment to convert analog audio and video content to digital files. The formats that can be converted are:

• Records (33, 45, 78 speed)
• VHS tapes
• Cassette tapes
• Music CDs
• Video DVDs

Transformation Station users must bring a thumb drive to store the converted digital files. Printed instructions are available at the library.

The Transformation Station is inside Study Room A at the Main Library, 585 Liberty St SE.

Study Room A can be reserved up to one week in advance for up to two hours per day. Please be aware that it may take multiple sessions to complete some conversion projects.

Library staff are available to briefly troubleshoot the equipment. If more extensive help or training is needed, Transformation Station users can complete an online request for a 30-minute Library Tech Help appointment to arrange a time to meet with staff.
